School of Science & EngineeringChittagong Independent University Apply to SSE

Engineering that answers to Bangladesh and to the world.

At SSE, students and faculty build robots, read medical images, rethink energy systems and teach machines to see. Four research groups and five new laboratories are taking that work further.

Featured story

Five new labs, one purpose: more to build with

High-performance computing, digital forensics, biomedical, energy and semiconductor labs are coming to SSE, each tied to a research group.

Meet the new labs

Research groups

All research

Faculty and students work together in four groups. Each group connects people, labs and projects around one question.

Energy Research Group

Power systems, renewable generation and efficient use of energy, with a home in the planned Energy Lab.

Lab: Energy Lab (opening soon)

Biomedical Research Group

Engineering for health: signals, imaging and devices that help clinicians and patients.

Lab: Biomedical Lab (opening soon)

Robotics Research Group

Mobile robots, autonomy and mechatronics, built on student projects such as SLAM on a TurtleBot and robotics outreach through IITIR.

Linked to: IITIR, CIUAIC

Vision Research Group

Computer vision and image understanding, from recognition to medical and scene analysis.

Lab: High Performance Computing Lab (opening soon)

New laboratories

Existing labs

SSE already runs eight teaching and project laboratories. These five are the next step: places to do research, not only to learn techniques.

Opening soon

High Performance Computing Lab

Compute for AI, vision and simulation.

Opening soon

Digital Forensic Lab

Investigating digital evidence and securing systems.

Opening soon

Biomedical Lab

Sensors, signals and devices for health.

Opening soon

Energy Lab

Testing power and renewable-energy systems.

Opening soon

Semiconductor Lab

Devices, circuits and electronics fabrication basics.
